FamilyWorks Together serves families of all orientation, size, marital status, and affiliation. We believe that families are the cornerstone to a healthy and productive life and that all families have the potential to thrive given the right knowledge and tools. Through our counseling and education programming, families we work with are strengthened, their children become more resilient, and their parents and caregivers become more capable and caring for their children with unique needs.
FamilyWorks Together’s qualified staff is particularly dedicated to serving families formed through adoption, guardianship, kinship and those involved with the child welfare system or at risk for such involvement. Through continuing professional education programming and the most up-to-date clinical practices, our staff is committed to serving your family’s unique needs.
FamilyWorksTogether’s team of training and counseling professionals are joined in the belief that maintaining the strength of a family bond is hard work. We also work toward this goal committed to the notion that families work- establishing therapeutic goals for your family, working with qualified professionals, and regularly evaluating your family’s success in meeting those goals is part of what we do to help your family grow into its healthiest self.
By collaborating with professionals and other organizations that serve adoptive families, we expand our impact beyond our own framework. We regularly join with adoption professionals, family counselors, social workers, and community partners to increase families’ access to the tools they need to grow and remain strong in our region.
FamilyWorks Together is committed to working together with each and every family we serve to meet the needs of parents and children in our communities so that we are all part of a stronger society. Together, our counseling staff can help parents and guardians form stronger bonds with their children through enhancing attachment and by decreasing parental stress. Together, our trauma-informed team can help children and their families manage events using evidence-based techniques that are proven to improve function and behavior both at school and at home. Together, our training and education team can help parents and guardians prepare for what lies ahead for their families.
Together in our community, FamilyWorks Together partners with private and public organizations and individuals to strengthen our services to children and families, increasing the impact our counseling, training and education programming has on families formed by adoption, guardianship, kinship, and those touched by the child welfare system. Together, these partnerships have impacted more than 10,000 children in the DC-metro region since 1990, and together, we can impact many more.
